Looking
back, I guess I should have known that I was destined for show business.
At age eight I was wearing my mom’s scarf and pretending to be Kitty
Carlisle while watching To Tell the Truth on TV.
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, I caught stage fever in the seventh
grade when I starred in my junior high school production of
The Red Carpet Christmas. From that day on, I was involved
in every high school drama production, musical, you name it.
For college, I headed to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (sadly,
not Florida) where I majored in Theatre Arts. It was there that
I developed my love for the costume designers and show runners…being
an avid costume runner myself. (Always, always hang-up your costume!)
After college, I spent nine months at the acclaimed Actors Theatre
of Louisville as an actor intern. Once I completed my internship,
I left for the windy city of Chicago.
I spent nine years in Chicago where I honed my craft as an actor
and became very active in the theatre. I even helped build The Griffin
Theatre Company from the ground up.
My television breakthrough came in 1996 when the producers of Frasier
cast me as David Hyde Pierce’s lookalike, Rodney Banks. I packed
my bags and moved to Los Angeles to begin a new phase in my career.
However, my heart still belongs to the theatre. It’s where I find
my greatest satisfaction. Under the stage lights, in front of a
live audience, I get the chance to create, entertain and hopefully
transport an audience to a magical and carefree place.
All my best to you!
